BUKIT MERAH RESIDENT COMPLAINS OF EXCESSIVE INCENSE BURNING THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT

Dear A.S.S.,

I live in bukit merah view which is a very old estate with high percentage of old folks. Tangkis or Home Shrines are a plenty here. The open field between blk 123/130 is frequently rented out to taoist/religious groups who will burn large amounts of incense papers daily.

In the picture, u can see home shrine devotees burning large amounts of incense papers in concrete octagon burner beside blk 129, leaving behind large quantities of ashes which will be carried by winds to our homes and lungs.

u can even see a devotee from home shrine burning large container of food/incense powder around 12am and it continues to burn throughout the night, thus another sleepless night for residents of blk 123 and surrounding blocks.

I hope the town council, member of parliament and government agencies can step in to control these activites so largescale burning of incense papers can be controlled.bukit merah view is our homes, not a “Home Shrines Haven”, please help.
