2 S’POREAN MEN CONVICTED OF CROSSDRESSING ESCAPE JAIL WITH $3.6K FINE

Fashion photographer Muhammad Fadli and his companion Nur Qistina will escape jail time in Abu Dhabi, UAE, after their year’s worth of sentencing was reduced to a fine and deportation.

The duo were arrested a day after arriving in the country for allegedly crossdressing and behaving “indecently”.

An United Arab Emirates newspaper reported that the sentence was reduced to a Dh10,000 fine following multiple interventions by the Singapore embassy and a public Twitter outcry.
