Dear A.S.S. Editor
The distributor of the cladding materials found to be flammable and was installed in a total of 41 buildings in Singapore has released a statement indicating that they are conducting their own investigations, but is coorperating fully with SCDF.
The company, Chip Soon Aluminium, indicated shock and dismay that SCDF has told them the materials were not of the Class 0 standard as required under the Singapore Fire Code, as they believed that the products have always been compliant to the code and properly certified.
The company is also reportedly demanding explanation from the manufacturers of the products on the products’ compliance with the appropriate standard. The SCDF has lodged a police report regarding the cladding, and invetigations are currently ongoing.
