This was a few months ago. I was going home from Kent Ridge and realized my ez link had insufficient value. I didn’t have any cash and it was a nightmare. So I approached a smrt staff member and he gladly lent me 10 dollars to top up my card.
I wanted to give him my name and phone number so I can return the money next day and he said no need, I could come back later if I’m busy, and ask any one of the staff at the station to pass him the money.
But of course I returned the very next day. I wanted to thank him in person but he wasn’t on duty.
It was the most heart warming thing I’ve ever experienced in Singapore. I was so relieved that day and grateful for the kind gentleman who helped me out without hesitation when I was desperate.
