MAN ANGRY AT BEING OVERTAKEN BY LORRY, REACTS BY ASSAULTING DRIVER

A man driving his van became so angry that a lorry overtook him, that he sped up to catch up to the lorry, stopped the lorry, assaulted the lorry driver, and took his ignition keys away. Tang Chiap Huat, 48, was sentenced to four weeks’ jail for this extreme road rage.

He admitted to slapping Mr Sivalingam Rathinam, punching the 30-year-old twice in his chest area and hustling with him for the vehicle key, along Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Oct 20, 2016, causing injuries to the victim. Tang cannot accept that the lorry had overtaken his van, as he felt that his vehicle was overtaken abruptly and was unhappy about this.

The victim, a construction worker, was treated for bruises on the face and chest, and abrasion on the right index finger. tang had driven off after his road rage act.
