The SEA games organising committee has condemned offensive remarks by Malaysian football fans who chanted “Singapore dogs” during a game. The committee called it “regrettable” as it was against the spirit of unity.
It urged fans to behave and refrain from religious or racial insults.
This is not the first time Malaysian fans shouted their “Singapore dogs” chant; they have received much flak for the same behaviour before.
Say “regrettable” but never really say sorry. What’s the point of winning the game if you lose your moral and dignity?
