SINGAPORE FOOTBALL DOWN IN THE DUMPS, OUT OF SEA GAMES BEFORE IT EVEN STARTED

Dear A.S.S. Editor

As expected by almost all local football fans, the Singapore national under 22 football team will not participate any further in the SEA Games beyond their group matches, after they lose to noisy neighbours Malaysia 2-1 last night.

Even before the SEA Games officially opens this weekend, the Young Lions are already out of the competition after two straight loses, to Myanmar and Malaysia. They had set a lofty target of reaching the semi finals, but their losing streak that started way before the Games continued.

However, despite the two most recent defeats, the coach Rocahrd Tardy refused to believe that there is a huge gap between Singapore and Malaysia and Myanmar. He was even happy that Singapore matched Malaysia for at least one hour of the match.
