24 year old Myanmar maid Mya Thet Wai poisoned her employer’s cup of cereal with dettol after she got fed up with 4 months of non-stop nagging.
The employer Mdm Toh Sew Kok made a cup of cereal drink for herself and left it on the table. As she went to attend to her grandchild, the maid poured a small cup of dettol and dropped it into the cereal drink.
When Toh finally went to finish her breakfast, she spat it out immediately after it tasted foul. CCTV footage was reviewed and a police report was made. It was then that the maid confessed to poisoning her employer with dettol.
When interrogated, the maid admitted that she poisoned her employer so she would be sent back home after she could no longer tolerate the nagging. The maid was jailed 5 months for her act.
