POLICE CONFIRM UNDERAGE DRINKERS WERE 14 – 16 Y.O., NO PRE TEENS INVOLVED
The Singapore Police Force have confirmed that there were no pre-teenage children involved a 13 August incident of underage drinking at Oleander Breeze, a Housing & Development Board (HDB) estate in Yishun.
A post on the Oleander Breeze Facebook page had claimed that a group of underaged boys and a girl were consuming alcohol at the void deck, with the girl alleged to be aged 7 or 8 years old. A video of the incident was also uploaded online.
The original post read:
“A group of underage boy and girl was smoking and consuming alcohol at the void deck
One of the girl was as young as 7 or 8 year old
The police arrest one of them as I think she is unstable from the consummation of alcohol …”
Police confirmed that a gir had received emergency medical attention due to her disorientation from drinking, but added that none of the children who were caught were younger than 14.
The girl's father and brother were informed and arrived to accompany the girl to the hospital.
