MAN WHO HELD ONE-MAN DEMO AT RAFFLES PLACE SUFFERED FROM DELUSIONAL DISORDER

Dear A.S.S. Editor

The man who asked for PM Lee to resign in an unlawful demonstration in the CBD last month is currently on trial, and it was revealed that he had tried to get a permit for a similar protest about a year ago.

The request was, of course rejected. 41 year old Yan Jun was charged with two counts of taking part in a public assembly without a permit, which included holding the demonstration at Raffles Place on 3 and 4 July. He had criticised the Singapore judicial system and also asked PM Lee to step down.

Yan Jun, who is a Singaporean, is also facing two other charges of similar offences outside the US Embassy and the British High Commission.

Yan has been in remand since his arrest. It was also revealed that Yan was diagnosed in February this year with delusional disorder of a persecutory type, and he was remanded at the IMH.
