Dear A.S.S. Editor

Seems like for the Presidential Election, Mdm Halimah Yacob need not campaign very hard. The mainstream media is already doing it for her in a big way. Since she announced her intention to run, seems lie everyday there is some feel good story about her.

The latest salvo is the fact that she lives in a HDB flat. The media has gone all out to interview her neighbours and shop owners around her neighbourhood. Responses from them are typical, history in the making, of course happy that Yishun finally in the news for the right reasons, and generally happy with it, as she is a civil servant, and HDB houses are for public housing.

Seems the media going all out to paint her as the average Singaporean, in touch with the heartlanders. But one thing that jumps out from all this madness, Halimah Yacob was quoted as saying “I don’t see why I can’t continue, unless of course there are other considerations like security, for instance”. Not sure if Halimah Yacob and her neighbours have been following the news lately, but hello! There are other considerations like security, especially with terrorism the world over? Haven’t you all heard?
