PAP LOGIC FOR REJECTING MARSILING BY-ELECTION PROVES NO NEED FOR MINORITY IN GRC?

Lee Hsien Loong will not be holding a By-Election at Marsiling-Yee Tee following Halimah Yacob’s resignation. This is despite her being the only minority MP in the 4-seat GRC. The GRC was envisaged as a system to ensure minority representation but now the Chan Chun Sing claims that this should be seen at the overall aggregate level.

Worse, in a blatant violation of the principle of democracy, the authoritarian party now intends to appoint an unelected grassroots leader to take over Halimah Yacob’s role.

Now going by PAP’s perverted argument, Opposition Parties should not need to field any minority candidates in future since there is already sufficient number from the PAP, right?
