NETIZEN ASKS COLUMBARIUMS TO ALLOW BURNING OF OFFERINGS OR RISK LOSING CULTURE

A netizen has created a petition demanding that temples and columbariums where Chinese ancestors and family members are buried allow worshipers to burn joss paper offerings during Qing Ming Festival and the Chinese Ghost Month (7th Month).

According to the netizen, the burning of offerings is an important part of "filial piety and ancestor veneration in traditional Chinese culture" and needs to be preserved.
