A women’s coding platform has been forced to issue a warning to its members after men were found to be abusing the platform to try and meet up with female coders for other purposes.
In a message circulated among the Singapore members of Women Who Code (womenwhocode.com), the administrators revealed that they had received various complaints from female members who complained that they had received inappropriate messages from men.
Some members had even complained of men who claimed to offer jobs to the women, but ended up meeting them for ulterior motives.

We have received various reports of men using our Meetup platform to find and message ladies. We want to assure everyone that this is not acceptable behaviour.
Ladies, if you have received any messages out of the blue, please let any of our leads know, and we will take action to ban them.
Let us work together to make this a safe and enjoyable environment for our community.
