MOUNT ALVERNIA SHUTTLE BUS CRASHES INTO BUS STOP, INJURES 13

A free shuttle bus plying its route between Mount Alvernia Hospital and Bishan MRT crashed into a bus stop today, injuring 13 people in the bus.

According to news reports, the incident took place today along Braddell Road today at noon.

The bus driver sustained serious injuries and being treated at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s emergency ward. 8 other passengers also sustained serious injuries and have sought treatment at different hospitals.

More than 20 passengers were riding on the bus during the accident. 13 were unhurt and received outpatient check ups at Mount Alvernia’s walk-in clinic.

This is the second incident involving bus accidents on the road. Almost a week ago on 20 July, a SBS Transit bus driver ran his bus through a crowd of 4 motorcyclists who were waiting innocuously at a red light junction along Pasir Panjang Road. 3 motorcyclists were seriously injured.
