An Indonesian maid was jailed for robbing and threatening her employer’s bedridden husband. 30 year old Eko Alviah had tried to steal money from Mr Chew on many occasions while taking care of him. She also threatened to kill him and cut off his nipple if he did not tell her his ATM PIN number.
The maid tied and bound the old man before stealing more than $2000 worth of jewellery and finally leaving for Batam. She did not get to withdraw any money from the ATM as Mr Chew had given her a fake number.
Eko was arrested when she tried to return to Singapore in hopes that she could work here again. She pleaded guilty to 3 charges and was sentenced to more than 4 years jail.
