3 more cases of locally transmitted Zika infections have been reported at Serangoon North Avenue 1, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said in a statement today. This follows 2 cases reported in June, one at Kensington Park Drive and the other at Parry Avenue.
NEA said that it was notified of the cluster on Wednesday and performed control operations and outreach in the areas to warn residents of the outbreak.
“Zika information leaflets and insect repellents will be distributed to households to raise the general awareness of Zika, and reiterate the need for source reduction to prevent mosquito breeding. Residents are advised to apply repellent as a precaution,” NEA said.
