JOSEPH SCHOOLING IN FINAL OF 50M BUTTERFLY EVENT IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dear A.S.S. Editor

Our very own Olympic Champion shows no signs of letting up in his pursuit of world domination. Joseph Schooling has qualified for the final of the 50m butterfly event in the World Swimming Championships in Budapest.

His time of 22.93s in the semi finals of the event last night puts him as fifth fastest qualifier for the final. The time was also good enough to break the previous Singapore and Asian records in the event.

Schooling said he was happy with his overall performance, as the main thing was to qualify for the final. He also indicated that once the final starts, anyone can win it. Schooling has targeted the 50m fly and his favourite event, the 100m fly, of which he is the Olympic Champion, as the two world crowns he wants to win.

The final will take place on Monday night. Singapore’s other representative, Quah Zheng Wen, will also begin his first event, the 100m backstroke, on Monday. All the best for Singapore’s swimming heroes!
