The Singapore Armed Forces will be giving assistance to the Philippines to help them counter terrorism threats in Marawi. This comes after a meeting with the Philippines’ Secretary of National Defense. Minister of Defence Ng Eng Hen said Singapore will provide humanitarian supplies, transport aircraft, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, etc.
Both of them look forward to work together to combat terrorism so that ISIS-linked networks do not set up bases in Marawi and launch future attacks in the region. After all, Mr Ng said: “Peace-loving countries understand that if we do not combat terrorism together, we will be attacked individually, and our citizens will never be safe at home”.
