NOT DEMOCRATIC TO PARACHUTE EX-MILITARY CHIEFS TO HEAD OUR CIVIL SERVICE

With a quick & artificially expanded population of new citizens, problems will arise (they always do, going by LKY’s quick-fix PAP-policies that MERELY quick-fix themselves even in today’s ‘new normal’ world). Seems to me then…

This new appointment (of having an ex-policeman as head of Civil Service), amidst the many similar ones where ex-military chiefs are given top CEO-like positions, is another indication of Singapore becoming more ‘junta’-like as a political system. In Thailand, military power took over cos democracy didn’t work. In Singapore this amorphous ‘junta’ appears to take shape becos our “authoritarian-democracy” doesn’t quite work either.

Actually, nothing would work becos the Govt wants the best of both worlds – to be totalitarian and still appear democratic. Sigh. Yeah, the real slim shady!

Just my observation.
