SECOND BLACKOUT HITS SG, THIS TIME AT TAMPINES AVE 4

Dear A.S.S. Editor

A power outage affected about 200 residents in four blocks of flats at Tampines Avenue 4 on Sunday night. The blackout started at about 7pm, and lasted for 2 hours.

SP Group confirmed that the electricity supply to Blocks, 802, 803, 804 and 806 in Tampines Ave 4 was disrupted at 6:55pm. The cause was found to be a burnt Low Voltage Board at the substation at Blk 802. There was also a fire that required SCDF personnel to extinguish.

The cause of the incident are still being investigated. This is the second such incident of power outage in Singapore in the last one week. Last Wednesday, more than 30 houses along at least five streets in Kembangan were hit by a power outage which lasted about two hours.
