DRUG MULE MISSED HIS FLIGHT OUT OF SG, BROKE DOWN AND CONFESSED TO CARRYING DRUGS

The lengths to which drug mules have to go to just to get their drugs delivered, and probably get their pay day. A 42 year old Indonesian drug mule swallowed 29 pellets of methamphetamine, inserted 10 pellets into his rectum and hid 4 pellets in his shorts and shoes.

He had taken a flight from China to Singapore, intending to transit to Indonesia on the same day. But at Changi Airport, fate conspired against him as Adri Anton Kalangie missed his connecting SIA flight and ended up having to spend two days in the transit hall at T2.

A concerned customer officer, who noticed that Adri was smoking and appeared to be drunk, approached him and wanted to help him. But he began crying and apologising, finally admitting that he was in possession of drugs. Adri was sentenced to 25 years jail and 15 strokes of the cane for all the efforts in trying to smuggle the drugs.
