Dear A.S.S. Editor
Police are currently investigating a 37 year old man suspected of making a false report that he was robbed. The man had lodged a police report on Sunday claiming that he was robbed of $799 in cash by two unknown assailants.
Police reported that investigations on the original police report showed many inconsistencies, and it was eventually established that the man had provided false information to the police. Police are currently investigating the man, and reminded the public that it is an offence to lodge police reports that turns out to be fake.
Police resources could have been put to better use in dealing with real crimes and emergencies instead of being used to investigate false reports.
