ISLANDWIDE MRT BREAKDOWN AGAIN, DELAYS BECOMING A DAILY ROUTINE

SMRT posted on its Twitter page today that its East West Line had been affected by a delay at Jurong East to Joo Koon station, with commuters asked to wait for more than 15 minutes. There were other unannounced delays of over 20 minutes for some stations along the North South and Circle Lines.

Although SMRT announced at 7.29PM that the East West Line fault had been cleared, trains continued to run slowly, with some commuters being forced to alight at stations along the way to avoid getting caught in the delays.

According to one twitter user, pcscorpio, some unfortunate commuters were even offloaded by SMRT at Clementi Station when their train’s last stop was changed from Joo Koon to Clementi station.
