HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST GIVES TL:DR SUMMARY OF OXLEY PARLIAMENT DEBATE

Prominent human rights activist Kirsten Han shared a concise summary of the Oxley road Parliamentary proceedings. If you had no time to sit through the hours of talk shop, maybe this will help. Read her summary below:

“PARLIAMENT tl;dr

Lee Hsien Loong: I’m lifting the Whip! Actually, there is no point in doing that but ask me anything and we’ll clear up this whole mess!

WP MPs (and some others): How meaningful can this be, if Lee Wei Ling and Lee Hsien Yang are not present, and we only have your side of the story, and we don’t have any particular insight into the situation ourselves? Would it not be better to convene a Select Committee that can bring all parties together and present evidence in a systematic way?

LHL: Why a Select Committee? Where’s the evidence? You must bring me evidence of abuse then can have committee! No evidence, no committee! There is no conflict of interest okay? There is no abuse of power!

Teo Chee Hean: I also say!

Goh Chok Tong: I also say!

LHL: Okay case closed.

WP MPs: …

LHL: I was very sad when my dad died.”
