WHY CAN’T GOVT JUST HONOUR LKY AND GRANT HIM HIS LAST WISH?

Dear A.S.S. Editor,

After hearing all that has been said in Parliament today, it is clear to all and sundry that it was the wish of LKY to have his house demolished after his demise. Two questions stand up glaringly:

1. Why did several ministers and people who professed to know and love LKY still doubted his wish by casting doubts on the validity of his Final Will? In the process, they had no qualms about questioning his mental health and casting aspersions on the integrity of his daughter-In Law and a senior lawyer, Mrs. Lee Suet Fern.

2. No one has suggested that LHY had other ulterior motives or special benefits in wanting the house demolished, except to honour his father’s wish. He wanted it demolished even when LHL was the named beneficiary. Subsequently, he paid good money to buy it from LHL to have his sister continue staying there and demolished when it was time. Then to turn it into a memorial garden, if need be. I see in him a fervent desire to honour his father’s wish and the absence of a selfish motive.
