DPM Teo Chee Hean recounted his impressions of the Lee siblings in hopes that they will not accuse the PM just because they are unhappy about having to clarify their father’s last wishes. While he said “the Hsien Loong I see now is the same Hsien Loong I have known all these years – an upright person who stands by his principles, and does what is right…” he continued that “the Hsien Yang I see now is not the Hsien Yang I knew”.
He did not understand why LHY is so consumed by hurt and hopes he will “find peace and solace within himself” in due time.
As for Lee Wei Ling, DPM Teo guessed she must have gone through difficult times because of her parents and her own health. “For Wei Ling, the Government has said that we will not do anything to affect her right to continue living at 38 Oxley Rd. I wish her happiness, time to do the things which she enjoys with her friends, and above all, good health and a long life.”
