Dear A.S.S. Editor
I am always wary when I see a grass cutting machine, or even those foreign workers who cut the grass. Whenever i walk near them, I hope and pray that nothing serious will ever happen.
My fears were proven right, when I saw a report that said a woman was hit by a rock allegedly tossed up by a grass cutting machine in Tampines. She was taken to hospital after she was hit on the right side of her forehead, and left a deep cut.
The woman, a hairdresser, said she was attending to a customer when she saw the grass cutting machine being operated nearby. She decided to go outside her shop to remove some towels that was being aired, worried about the debris that would dirty them. This was when she was hit by a palm sized rock.
The injuries were not serious, and the worker operating the machine has stopped work temporarily. Tampines Town Council has not responded to the media about the incident. So I was right, those grass cutters are dangerous.
