Eyewitnesses have come forward to shed more light on the unfortunate man who was hit by a falling air conditioner unit yesterday at Block 3018, Bedok North Street 5.
The incident happened at about 5.35PM yesterday at the Eastlink Light Industrial Factory, an industrial estate managed by the Housing & Development Board (HDB).
The man who was injured by the falling aircon unit was identified as Mr Tun Win, a 41 year-old Myanmar supervisor at All Link Engineering. A video of Mr Tun Win lying on the ground and receiving medical attention from Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers went viral yesterday evening after a clip of the incident was uploaded online.
Mr Tun Win is now awaiting the results of his MRI in hospital.
He told reporters in hospital: “I didn’t hear anything, and could not react at all. After I was hit, my mind was a blank and I knew only that I was hit by something very heavy and my head and neck hurt very badly. I fainted and woke up in the hospital.”
Straits Times reporters reported that the aircon unit fell from a company’s premises on the second floor. The company involved is assisting with investigations.
