Dear A.S.S. Editor

Two foreign workers are in critical condition in hospital after they were caught in a fire at their workplace in a factory in Tuas on Saturday. One of them, a 27 year old man from Shandong suffered a 66% burn on his body, while another, a a 39 year old from Jiangsu suffered 90% burns.

Both are currently in the ICU at Singapore General Hospital. Reports stated that both are in a very critical condition, and doctors and nurses at SGH are trying their best to save the men’s lives. The fire at 29 Tuas Avenue 10 started at about 4:00 pm on Saturday, and was only put out at about 5:10pm. SCDF said that the fire involved plastics and used metals.

Only the two men were injured in the incident. Efforts are being made by the companies the men were hired from to ensure that they both receive the proper medical care required currently and in the future. The China Embassy had been informed and reports indicated that the families of the men are being flown to Singapore to be by their side.
