S’PORE IS PROSPERING OFF THE BACKS OF POOR NATIONS?

From Singapore’s perspective, migrant workers are easy to employ or drop at will. But for the worker, this leaves him in a painfully difficult situation – often much worse off than he was before.

It’s yet another way rich nations benefit off the backs of poorer ones. Until we acknowledge and address global inequality, all talk about wanting to “prosper together as a region” is just lip service.
