Netizens have become enraged after yet another case of maid abuse came to light yesterday.
According to a post on Filipinos in Singapore, an employer staying in a condominium in Singapore was planning to go away on a holiday, but did not know what to do with her foreign domestic worker. They simply left without making arrangements to return the maid to her agency for the time being.
The maid was left to find her own accommodation. She eventually found refuge with a fellow foreign domestic worker for a short few days. As she did not know when her employers would return, she returned to the unit after a few days, only to realize that her employers had not returned. She was left sleeping outside of the unit without any allowance until the employer returns home.
The maid’s plight has gone viral among Facebook users, who roundly criticized the employer for being heartless.
