Lee Hsien Yang in an exclusive interview with mainstream media reporters camping outside his home elaborated more on the alleged used of State Organs to persecute him and his sister Lee Wei Ling.
Lee Hsien Yang said the fears of possible use of state organs arose after the Cabinet Committee was formed to determined what to do with 38 Oxley Road. It was a committee formed to determine the fate of the home when Lee Wei Ling no longer lived there.
“The cabinet has just put out a note and talked about some of the things. What is the cabinet committee doing on 38 Oxley Road notwithstanding our settlement with Loong? Why is there even a Cabinet committee when PM Lee had announced in Parliament that so long as Wei Ling is living there, nothing needs to be done?
Why when the Government says the government of the day will decide when Lee Wei Ling is no longer (living there) … is the Government of today convening this Cabinet committee?”
Lee Hsien Yang elaborated further and said both he and his sister viewed the Cabinet Committee being set up as a means of making trouble for them, to delay them from demolishing Lee Kuan Yew’s house at 38 Oxley Road.
“We have had mountains of correspondence over almost a year but the Committee continues to raise the same questions. They have nothing to do with the subject of the Committee which is being used to make trouble. You asked for an example of persecution and here is a prime one.”
When pushed to be more specific on abuse of power, Lee said “the Committee is one very specific example.”
