A foreign domestic worker from Myanmar who committed suicide by jumping off the 19th floor of a high rise condominium, The Interlace, was allegedly mistreated by her employer.
The incident took place 2 days ago at about 7PM at the Depot Road condominium.
According to fellow domestic workers who had been in contact with the deceased woman, the victim had reportedly been depressed for some time.
More shockingly, a letter penned by the suicide victim addressed to her sister has emerged. In it, she wrote about living with a overly strict employer, who sometimes denied her meals or made her eat at very late timings. In the letter, she described one of her meals as consisting of "two bread and drink wate[r]."
Police investigations are ongoing.
