SCDF RESCUES MAN TRAPPED IN CRUSHED LORRY CABIN IN CTE ACCIDENT

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has rescued a driver, who was trapped in a crushed lorry cabin after colliding with the lorry in front of his vehicle during an accident along the Central Expressway (CTE).

The incident took place at the stretch of expressway travelling towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE) just before the Yio Chu Kang exit.

According to a video uploaded online, the accident involved 3 lorries. One of the lorries had smashed into the back of another lorry, causing its own cabin to cave in. Images of the driver (dressed in red), who was trapped in the cabin compartment, have also been circulated online.

The SCDF were alerted about the accident at around 1.15PM today (12 June) and dispatched rescue workers to the scene.

They managed to free the driver, a 60 year-old Chinese man, and sent him to the hospital in conscious condition.
