MAN JAILED ONE WEEK AND FINED $5K FOR TRYING TO BRIBE NEA OFFICER

Dear A.S.S. Editor

For trying to bribe an NEA officer, a company director have been sentenced to one week’s jail and a fine of $5,000. The company director, Ng Lam Siong, of Sin Lam Bee Sawmill, had offered S$50 to NEA officer, Mr Muhammad Kamil Mohamad Noh to report a fewer number of mosquito-breeding grounds at his company’s factory at 2 Sungei Kadut Street 3.

The NEA officer immediately rejected the bribe being offered, and the matter was later reported to the CPIB. Investigations had shown that Ng was trying to avoid a hefty fine, as this was not the first time that his company’s premises were found to have spots that breed mosquitoes.

Still trying to bribe his way out, when he knows that his company not doing their best to stop mosquito breeding? He deserves the jail and the fine.
