BRAVE HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS HOLD RARE PUBLIC PROTEST ON S’PORE MRT

On Saturday, activists campaigning against the Internal Security Act’s detention staged a rare public protest on the North-South Line MRT. They pasted placards on the MRT, masked their eyes and held up yellow books about the 1987 Marxist Conspiracy.

A police report has been made against the protesters and the police are looking into the matter. The protesters were protesting against arrests of 22 people made almost 30 years ago under the Internal Security Act.

Social worker Jolovan Wham, one of those who joined the protest, published photos of their protest on his personal facebook. This is one of the rare illegal protests held in Singapore and it is unclear if the police will take action against these brave souls.
