A lone gunman attacked a casino, fired shots and set fire to gambling tables at Resorts World Manila earlier today, causing panic in the country which has already been on high alert. People could see smoke billowing from the building and heard loud bangs as others got injured fleeing for their lives. There are no casualties so far.
The Islamic State rushed to claim responsibility but the police later clarified it was likely a robbery. They said the man, reportedly a Caucasian, ran straight for the casino chips and did not aim his rifle at anyone in particular. He poured gasoline on gambling tables and tried to steal US$2.27 million worth of chips. The police has since recovered the stolen amount.
The attack sparked fears of a terror attack but police has advised people not to worry as this is not a cause for alarm.
Dude needs more than a gambling help hotline.
