UP TO $20K FINE FOR FLYING KITES, BALLOONS OR DRONES NEAR NDP PARADE AREA

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and National Day Parade (NDP) 2017 Executive Committee have issued a ban on flight activities for kites, captive balloons and unmanned aircraft like drones near selected areas near the NDP parade area.

The ban affects the area from the ground up to 600 feet above the mean sea level.

The move was to protect low flying aircraft rehearsing for the aerial fly past for this year’s parade. Singapore Armed Forces personnel will be on site to conduct enforcement activities.

Offenders will be fined $20,000 for first time offences. Subsequent offences can be fined up to $40,000 for up to 15 months.
