OLD WOMAN INJURED, HIT ON THE HEAD BY WOOD THAT DROP FROM ABOVE

A 75 year old woman suffered injuries after a 2kg block of wood fell and hit her on the head. The incident happened at around 11.30am yesterday as she was walking home from the market at North Bridge Road.

Passers by gathered around her after hearing a loud noise followed by her screams. The woman called the police after her forehead swelled and she was feeling dizzy. She also injured her left eye and was sent to the hospital for treatment. She has since been discharged.

Strangely, nobody knows where the piece of wood came from while some speculated it may have been from the air ventilation pipe nearby.
