HSA: IF YOU USE ROYAL EXPERT WHITENING CREAM, THROW IT AWAY NOW!

The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has asked members of the public to not buy or use the Royal Expert Whitening Cream product, which was tested and found to contain high levels of mercury content.

Mercury is a toxic substance and is banned in cosmetic products.

Acute exposure to mercury vapor can produce serious effects on the nervous system including psychotic reactions, hallucinations, suicidal tendencies and delirium.

Sales of the cream are prohibited, effective immediately, and warned that anyone caught selling it would be liable for jail of up to 3 years and/or a fine of up to $100,000 if caught.

Members of the public currently using the product are advise to throw away the products immediately and consult a doctor if they experience adverse effects following its use.

The distributor of the product has approached the HSA for further clarification.
