ILLITERATE AUNTIE ASKS POLYCLINIC STAFF FOR HELP, GETS RUDELY SCOLDED INSTEAD

Today, 19th May 2017, at around 0730am, my mother was at the Woodlands Polyclinic because of a bad sore throat.

Being a typical auntie in Singapore with little English knowledge and even lesser towards the ever advancing technologies, she approached the personnel who was mending the registration machines for help.

Instead of offering help, my mother was shocked by the personnel’s words, “you press yourself la, you don’t know how to press ah?” And left to attend to her own stuff.

Obviously my mother didn’t know how to use the machine and that is why she approached you, and as well, your presence there is to offer help to people who do not know how to use the machine.

Several other patients queuing up to register saw what that happened too.

What’s the point of hiring people like you to stand at the registration counter if all patients who come knows how to use the machines?
