70 YEAR OLD MAN WENT BERSERK, ATTACKED 54 YEAR OLD MAN AT BEDOK WET MARKET

Two elderly folks were taken to hospital on Saturday night after the older of the men, aged 70, hit the younger man, aged 54 with a basket at a Bedok wet market.

The incident happened at Blk 16 Bedok South Road at11:38 pn on Saturday. Both men were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The younger man was reportedly closing his stall, when th older man decided to lift the canvas covering the stall.

The owner asked the older man what he was doing, to which the man promptly grabbed a vegetable basket and hit the younger man’s head. He was hit three times until his left eye bled, but managed to run and shout for help. Passers-by managed to subdue the older man.

Police are investigating what could only be described as a basket case.
