WHY DO S’POREANS PAY TO CALL MOM WHILE FOREIGN MAIDS GET TOLL-FREE HELPLINE?

Dear Editors,

While trying to find MOM’s phone number on their website, I came across this page. I note with disbelieve and disgust that MOM actually have a toll free number for foreign domestic workers to seek assistance while ordinary tax and levies paying citizens need to pay for calls to them!

Why such double standard? This appear to imply that calls from foreign workers are given priority over normal citizens. Do we deserve such treatment as citizens? Employers get abused and mistreated by maids too. Are they not equally important?
