Dear A.S.S. Editor
It has just been announced that as part of efforts to to improve lift safety and reliability, a dashboard management system jointly developed by town councils managed by the People’s Action Party (PAP) is expected to be launched later this month. As the first sentence broadly hints at, this system will only be launched in areas that are under the PAP town councils.
Why create this guise of working for the people under the management of Town Councils? Can’t the government just roll out the lift management system under the HDB umbrella, so that all Singaporeans will benefit? After all, this system are going to be built using taxpayer’s money, right? Mist likely, using this project as saying it was jointly developed by PAP town councils will allow them the right to just place the system in PAP Town Council’s wards. Is this some sort of punishment for the people who voted the PAP out in the other Town Council?
Some would say that the opposition Town Council can also use the system, provided they can stump up the cash to implement this. But that is not the point. The point is, was this just an excuse to punish those who did not vote for them? Quite obvious, isn’t it?
