CHAN CHUN SING SAYS NO MORE IRON RICE BOWL, EVERYONE FACE JOB UNCERTAINTIES

Dear A.S.S. Editor

Our Labour Minister has said that workers in Singapore have to prepare ourselves to take up more than two jobs in our entire working life. This means that for those who have yet to change jobs now, be prepared to actually lose this current job, and prepare again for life in a new working environment.

That is the sad reality the labour chief is trying to project. Guess, what he is trying to say is, there are no more iron rice bowls that we can look forward to. No more working your entire life in that same job in the same company. Why, even the Labour chief himself had changed jobs before!

But too bad our jobs are not like his. We cannot be gainfully employed as a Chief of Army, then move on to become a Full Minister immediately when he changed his jobs. Guess he had no problems adjusting form the high and lofty role as Chief of Army, to the high and lofty role as a Minister. Both roles, it is assumed, are high paying jobs. No problems for him changing jobs then.
