LTA TO CHARGE ERP AT KPE GANTRY, CONGESTION ROLLED OUT TO JUSTIFY CAHRGE

Dear A.S.S. Editor

The LTA has decided that more roads are congested and thus, ERP is required to ease these congestions. Either that, or they want more money for motorists to pay, as if not enough had already been paid to the LTA. Anyways, today’s reports indicated that the ERP will be activated during morning peak hours at the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) after Defu Flyover from May 8.

The current rate of $2 for the KPE gantry will apply between 7am and 9.30am on weekdays. This is also on top of the news that the current ERP rates along the stretch on Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), after North Buona Vista Road towards Tuas, will be doubled to $2 from May 8.

End of the day, if you want to drive during morning peak hours, at areas where most people drive at because they are the main arteries of Singapore roads, you just have to pay and pay. But seriously, every time you increase ERP, you said it is to ease congestion. Not helping in the past, won’t help in the future.
