It was great news to received that the Singapore Police arrested the middle aged couple who abused the old man at the hawker centre. However, just a few weeks back, a more serious case of public nuisance occured and the Owndays staff were utterly traumatised by a raging woman who not only abused them verbally but also pummeled them with punches.
Despite the public outcry, till today, no news of any police action was taken against the attacker at the Tiong Bahru Owndays store. Why is this the case? Even if this is a case of the attacker being of unsound mind, shouldn't there be a conclusion to this case so that Singaporeans are assured that the authorities take every single case of public nuisance seriously?
If the Toa Payoh couple who used profanities and bumped into the old man was arrested, surely the Owndays attacker is deserving of swifter and firmer action? I hope the Government can clarify on this matter and show that the law is applied equally and fairly.
