Dear A.S.S. Editor
In what was a very rare occurence in Singapore roads, a wild boar was hit and killed by a car near Lentor Avenue on Sunday night. The wild boar was siad to weigh a 100kg.
The aftermath of the accident indicated that the dead wild boar had also suffered a broken leg. However, reports indicated that the driver of the vehicle was not hurt. Apaprently, the wild boar had dashed into the middle of the road, and the car that hit it could not stop on time. Acres and AVA did not receive any calls regarding the accident, and the driver had already left the scene when reporters reached there.
While some are making fun of this situation, a wild animal running lose on the expressways are no joking matter. They may contribute to a road user actually getting seriously hurt. Authorities have adviced that any animals that are hit on the road t be left alone, and to let the relevant authorities deal with them, as they can be dangerous especially when hurt.
Drivers are also advised to be alert and calm at all times, especially when driving near nature areas.
