MAN ACCUSED IN ST HILDA CHURCH FIRE CHARGED, NO REASON GIVEN TO HIS ACT

Dear A.S.S. Editor

The man who was alleged to have set ablaze a room inside St Hilda’s Church at Ceylon Road have been charged with committing mischief by fire. He had also been named as Yeo Liang Chai, a 60 year old.

No reason was again given as to why he set the room in the church on fire. Based on reports, the charge was read to him in court as he stood expressionless in the dock. he had no lawyers representing him, and his case will be mentioned again next Wednesday. Yeo will be remanded at Central Police Division and may be taken out to assist officers with their investigations.

Would be good to know why he carried out the mischief. Hopefully, when he next appear in court, the full investigation on the case will be revealed. If convicted of committing mischief by fire, Yeo can be jailed up to 10 years and fined.
